Today we visited the "eisriesenwelt" in Werfen. The worlds biggest Icecave.

Very impressive, and quite a climb.. 1400 steps inside the cave (up and down)

Holiday 2007

We just came back from Holiday. Visited Austria and stayed in a village called Wagrain.

4 guys become 120 years old

Celebrated Niklas, Johny, Magnus and Markus' birthday a few days aga out in the countryside..

After an eventfull trip there..... (yes, we got lost) we had a great evening.. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

From all of us on this side of the screen.. Happy midsommar !

For the non Swedes, a little explanation of midsummer:

1. Wake up too late in the morning and realise there is more shopping to do

2. Quicly eat breakfast and burn your mouth at the freshly brewed (hot) coffee

3 Drive to the store to do the shopping you forgot yesterday

4 get stopped by the police for an alcohol check

5 Get to the store and queu for the midsommar ingredients: Herring, potatoes, herring, potatoes, Sour cream, and herring and potatoes

6 A few hours later , return to the car and drive back home with the missing groceries

7 Get stopped by the police for an alcohol check

8 Once the party starts , it is custom to cut down a (little) tree, and take off all branches and leaves. After that, put all the leaves back on, attach rings with more leaves and replant the tree.

9 To reanimate the three, a pagan ritual dance is performed around it. Spells chanted include little frogs that are funny to see. Run around the tree in circles. This ritual also serves as a rain dance as it always rains at this point.

10 the food that follows afterwards is joined by a "nubbe" and songs that always seem to end with "hej hop" REALLY LOUDLY

11 Get too drunk to remember what follows after point 10.

We'll see how the family survives this.. Will write about the results of midsummer later. Caution, there might be some party pictures showing up later.

Göta Kanal 2

Finally made a little decision today, after changing over a couple of times.. I am going to continue writing this blog in English so that both the Dutch and Swedes can read this. So there.. no more translating afterwards..

Watched Göta Kanal 2 yday with Jenny and Jennifer.. Okay movie, with some good laughing moments. Quite liked the scenes with language difficulty (Skit på dig, lol) and some Swedish fjäsking.. (bra swenglish, eller vad..)

Anyway, worthwhile movie to watch, though it is probably not going to be a cult movie like the first one.

Now it's time to start the midsummer celebration !! Glad midsommar !!!
