Weight 2011 - week 17

It's saturday again. Time to hit the scales (seriously, one of these days i'm going to hit or kick the bloody thing ;). )

Had it a bit tough this week. Trainingwise it's hard to keep a schedule with holidays and family visits. Foodwise easter and its candy have made life hard. It's gone ok, not great, but ok.

The result then: 0,8 kg and a total of exactly 27 kg. 28 kg left to go to target. Closer again to 2 digits, hope i make that before visiting holland in 3 weeks.

Now this weekend i have to find some runningshoes and clothes. Have none at all at the moment (has been years ago that i had training clothes .....). I'll start my couch to 5 km program this week. Wonder how that will go???

Weight 2011 - week 16

Morning.

Another week has flown by and time to weigh in again.

The weightgods have not been that kind this week. Seems things are slowing down lately. Have i hit a plateau? Feels a bit like the harder i train, the less i go down. And even in training i seem to get weaker, instead of stronger. Strange, but will have to just continue and work my way through !! Hopefully it will improve for next week.

The result then, 0,5 kg this week. Total 26,2 kg another 28,8 to go to target. Have passed 20% weightloss (total) this week...

Coming week it is time to get some running shoes and clothes. Beginning of may is my (re)introduction to running. I'm more and more motivated to get going.

have a great easter. Wonder how to avoid the eastereggs, but will give it a good try.

Weight 2011 - week 15

Morning.

Time for the weekly update. Had a good, but tough week. The weight decided to go up first, and very, very slowly down.

Training was tough. In the fourth week now and it's getting hard. Wonder if i will manage the coming week.

Results then: 1,1 kg and a total of 25,7 kg. Will not manage 100 kg before may as it looks now.

Now up to next week and an even better result.

Motorcycle driving lesson 1

Hi all,

Finally the day arrived today for my first lesson. I have been to the driving school earlier to confirm that they have clothes that fit (was a bit afraid that I would not fit in as I'm still quite a big guy). No problem however.

So today I got there and put on the loaner clothes. and then met Bengke, my driving instructor.
He asked if I wanted to ride the normal bike, a Suzuki Bandit, or a custom bike. I chose the Bandit as it has ABS and is more like the bike I want to ride.

After a short explanation he asked whether I wanted to try. I drove a couple of rounds at the driving school parking and then we set of into trafic. Well, I can tell you that there suddenly was a lot to do. All the things you take for granted when you drive a car suddenly feel strange and you find yourself forgetting obvious things again (like switching off turnsignals...)

Got to a parking where it was time to practice slow balance excercises. This actually went quite well and apparently I seem to have a good balance to start with. Quite proud of that as this was the thing i was fearing most.

Beyond that we drove around in some quiet areas and did a hillstart. Then back to the industrial area for some braking tests. That was a bit scary, but with a bike with ABS not a problem. Unfortunately, it was then time to head back to the driving school and my first lesson was over..

Thinking back it was one of the most fun things I did in a long time. It actually was not as hard as i expected, especially the slow balance excercises. I suspect that I just need to get a bit more used to the bike and things have to become more normal and structured. My goal of finishing this in the summer quite possible.

Next lesson is the 2nd of May. Then we probably head out into the towncenter. Don't think that will be too bad as I haven't felt that trafic is too much of a problem. Looking forward, only 18 days to go..

Weight 2011 - week 14

Morning.

Well, that just happened, my first week under target....

I think that my body after last week decided to go into saving mode. Hope it will start burning soon. Ah well, even smaller losses count.

Results then, 0,6 kg and a total of 24,6 kg. That also means a
Bmi of under 35. No longer strongly obese, but only 'normal' obese. At 90,5 (bmi 30) i will only be overweight......

Only 30,4 kg to go.......

Continued training this week. 3 sessions, up to 120 pushups and 180 situps.

Weight 2011 - week 13

Morning,

Saturday morning again. Another time to hit the scales.

A good week for weight 2011. A lot of lunchwalks (5) and continued training. Up to 121 situps and 79 pushups i got this week. Sure, with pauses, but the target is 200 and 100 without a break respectively.. 4 weeks to go ! Unfortunately, i start noticing that my back hurts a little, and maybe have to be carefull with that.

The weight gods have been kind to me this week. Weight was down by 1,9 kg. Means a total of 24 kg now and 31 kg to go to target. In a few weeks i'll pas 100 kg. Maybe before the start of may?

Was at the driving school this week to try out clothes for my bike license. I fit in their clothes (sure, xxl pants and xxxl jacket). Great feeling to finally start being able to do normal things. Sure, the clothes are big and i look like a sausage, but i fit in and can do something i could not do before. Gradually, as i lose more it will become even better! First lesson, 14th of april :))
